The scope of work involved replacement of a failed 900RCP with new 1200 RCP at invert depth of up to 4m. Challenges included soft sand soils, careful staging to ensure road was kept open, and managing continuous creek flows while the culvert was being replaced.
As part of the scope, Civil Tech also reconstructed around 200m2 of pavement that had experienced regular slip failures in the past. The existing pavement was excavated to 1.3m deep, heavy rock punched to stabilize a soft boggy, subgrade, then full 1.0m depth of mesh stabilized pavement was constructed and resealed.
